Need driver for elusive "Sound Card ( 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard )"

Someone who follows them or has one has to know this it can't be too complex =p

Ok my friend is a dolt.. online friend. He has a battalion/ibuypower laptop months old. I need the sound driver for it. He only knows this "Sound Card ( 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard )"

Which battalion model? I have no clue. I was gonna get him to run a software/hardware identifier such as everest or AIDA32 etc.. but he is hopeless lol and I don't have physical access to the laptop so could someone please read on and help me with this! thanks!

If they use more than a few sound cards i don't know and i don't know ibuypowers history i'm assuming it's a battalion. If there is more than driver to try please link them all will make him try them till right one is found.

according to the specs looks like a S-Turbo to me... aka the Uniwill 258ka0. the sound card is your generic realtek ac97... he can get the drivers from uniwill's website here: http://uniwill.com/UserDownload/258K...58KA0Audio.zip

Thanks a bunch man, much appreciated.

Also that is funny btw, I just currently set up Ubuntu/Dapper on my desktop here butt having some probs with modline and my Sony HDTV beeing there's no overscan option in the drivers unlike win. Other that, i'm loving it!(run 1824x1016 in win only been able to get 1280x720 so far in xorg.conf/X11

did you mod your xorg.conf to change the resolution?
