How Important Are the Stickers on the Bottom?

The info stickers on the bottom of my I9200 are starting to fade pretty badly.
I figured I'll scan the bottom of my notebook and keep it with the manual.
The notebook is out of warranty. How important are the stickers then?

Not very important really. I'd say they aren't going to be a huge deal if they do wear off all the way.

The only important two are the windows tag and the one with the express service code and service tag.

the sitckers on my brand new D620 where put on really bad and they are already coming off, anyone ever called Dell about this? Do they just send new stickers for your notebook?

If they send a tech he's going to put a new bottom shell on the Laptop, which won't have much in the way of stickers at all. And if you send it to depot they MIGHT replace the critical stickers like your Windows COA if it is unreadable and your SVCtag and svc code sticker. I wouldn't worry about those other stickers though, all those are there for is to ensure compliance to the rules of the FCC (and equivalent agencies in other countries)

When the bottom shell got replaced on my laptop I specifically asked for them to send a duplicate Windows sticker and the service tag/express code sticker. Well, they got the service tag by itself sticker, but that was it. (And for the windows sticker they sent me the one that normally goes next to the touchpad.

So with all that, before the tech took back the old shell, I took all the stickers off and put them on a sheet of paper to go in my 'important computer stuff' box.

I think the Windows stickers come from Microsoft.
