Volume Issues (more specifically, "wave" issues)

So, I've come to accept the fact that I need to lower the "wave" value in order to make my 9300's volume increase an acceptable amount when I press the volume up button.

But, there are issues with the "wave" value. First, whenever PowerDVD opens up to play a DVD the wave value automatically goes back up to its default value. That is quite annoying.

Second, now whenever I open up an mp3 file in WinAmp, the wave value automatically goes to 0. And this happens each time I open an mp3. This has JUST started happening when I just turned on my computer, and I have no idea why.

So . . . is there a program that I can get or something to make sure the wave value does not change?

Any help is much appreciated.

Go into winamp / preferences / plugins / output.

Change from the waveout plugin to the directsound plugin. This way when u change the volume in winamp it is not moving the wave slider in your volume control up and down.

Try this with powerdvd.

Thank you for the WinAmp advice! It worked perfectly.

As for PowerDVD, there is no option I can find in the settings that talks about the auto-boost volume thing. The options are very limited.
