Very slow USB DVD burning.

I have an Aspire 5110 notebook because its light and the 160GB HD, the problem is when i burn dvds with 2 usb2 dvd burners it won't get over 3x speed, this is a new recovery, does anyone have an idea on the problem?

All the latest drivers are installed, all windows updates etc.. The same drives work as advertised on 3 other notebooks (16x or there about) drive 1 is an LG E10L and the other is a LG 4166D, XP MCE SP2

what burning software were u using?
did it show up in the option burning speed list all burn-speed support from ur optical drive?

Using Nero 7 and all speeds are selectable up to 16x
