I'm planning to buy z61t from Costco and was wondering if anybody has any info or advice on that model. I could not find any reviews on CNET or any other site.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Alex

It is a fairly recent model, and I don't know if I've seen a review of it either. have you checked the various laptop publications?

haven't found any reviews

I haven't found any reviews yet. I looked on Cnet.com and others. If anybody has any info on this notebook, please share, if you can. Thanks.

Look at this link http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1962551,00.asp It talks about the Z61T and it also has a review on the Z61M. I know that isn't your model but I think they are pretty much the same.

Besides the above link.... I find out what models the unit you are thinking about most closely compares with.. Then google for those model numbers.

Keep in mind that if the model you are wanting is brand-new, there's not going to be many reviews... but there may be a similar model.... Sometimes searching for the "parent" model will get you some hits.

On www.Costco.com , that is the BEST PLACE to buy a laptop due to their NO-HASSLE 180-day return window. .... return it to ANY Costco store and get ALL your money back.
(I returned a unit the other day)

Woof.... 180 days, no hassle return..... that's sweet...... I'll remember that..... Engraved it in my cortex I like "Best Buy", too..... they don't offer the 180 days/no questions return (only 30)... but they have a hell of an "extended warrenty" plan Three years ago.... I bought a Canon S-30 (great camera), and took out a three year extended warrenty on it.... (I do constructin/architecture....plus I like to backpack... so my cameras go to dirty places (like the crawlspace under a house..... ) The S-30 failed after 4 months.... just died....(shit happens) I walked into a Best Buy.... they took a look, and immediately bumped me to a Canon S-50.... very nice upgrade...... so I updated the extended.... and used the S-50 regularly for almost three years..... Anyway.... one week before the 3 year warrenty on the was due to run out (on the first of this month), I walked into a Best Buy (not the store where I purchased the camera), and said "look --all the setting mode icons are worn off the setting dial --because they were PAINTED on.... not engraved.... and just pulling the camera in and out of it's case wore them off -- this is a manufacturing defect.... The Camera works, and the photo quality is great --but it's really hard to use with no icons on the settings dial.... I liked the camera --a lot-- and would have been happy with a new dial --but I had waited long enough that the S-50 was now out of production --so They bumped me to a Canon S3IS..... Major upgrade, absolutely no hassle...... What a sweet new camera.... For the cost of the extended warranty coverage on the old one..... google the two models, and you'll see what I'm talking about.... Naturally, I immedately bought another three year, full replacement warrenty for $60.00.... plus a bunch of accessories I buy a lot of stuff from Best Buy because of that style of doing business..... TV's.... phones, pda's, even major appliances.... Always nice to have vendors who care about customer satisfaction.... it's increasingly rare, IMO

Why buy your laptop at the same place you buy your pickles?

LoL sorry just had to say that!

so in theory, you could buy one computer then return it in about 6 months and get a new one...that's pretty sweet
