I did dump my bios with the program, but how are you going to reflash it?

Who will make the first doorstop?

lol Thanks so much for the bios dump now like you said the million dollar question how are we going to flash this bak file to our m1710. If anyone knows please post. Maybe we can extract the A01exe file and just add this bak file in place of the one located in the a01 exe file and just run it

I have tried this before and there must be checksums, as I can't get it to work.

BEFORE ANYBODY BLINDLY TRIES THIS OUT, IT IS UNTESTED, AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF IT'S A COMPLETE DUMP OF THE BIOS. There, you have been warned.

I can't believe it could be so difficult for a company like Dell to provide the new BIOS ... just frustrating and ridicoulus

Well if your laptop doesn't boot up after being flashed, then it is a big deal. Since it hasn't been officially released I could see why the guy doesn't want to get a bunch of calls from pissed off customers and bosses.

That would be nice if he sends it to u though.

cool barcode, i saw yuor post over on whirlpool and followed it back here to my fave laptop forum.

If yuor not too buissy could u let us know whats different in A02 i am happy enough with my A01 at the mo and just wandered what the benefits of flashing would be.

side note i found this thread while having 8I fan gui 8C cooler then nvidia drivers for the GPU so am trying many progs to get some kind of clarity on what the temp is motherboard monitor just wont work and speed fan some times agree's with *i and and then sometimes dosnt, with no Bios temp monitor i am at abit of a loss, not that its too major a thing.

Any way thanks barcode for yuor help with the bios updates

A03 Bios

Any news on the A03 bios as I have installed Vista and having a few issues I hope that A03 might fix.

Anyone have any details on A03 and what it offers?

Thanks

A03 Bios

I am only installing Visa RC1 as a test to check its features.
I normally have MCE2005 installed. When you get the new bios file you basically should only have to run the file on your M1710 and it will ask to update the bios and once you accept it restarts and thats it done. (Hopefully).

So has anyone any news on A03 just checked Dell's site and its still listing A01 (
