m9700 with single 7900 GS overclocking

Does anyone have this laptop and have they attempted to overclock their SINGLE 7900 GS? I've read about the person who tried to overclock their SLI laptop, but that didnt work out too well. If you have successfully overclocked your 7900 GS, please post the cpu/memory speeds achieved.

THANKS!

if youre considering doing this, make sure you have a laptop cooler...

Overclocking a laptop is stupid, but I did it anyway. I'm not sharing how I did it or the clocks I achieved as I don't want anybody that doesn't know what they're doing to do put in my numbers without working up to them and blowing up their system.

I can't recall the clocks on this anyway, but during my OC I accidentally did a run in the middle of the process on a single card and scored in the 7300's for a single gs.

I stopped pushing the dual cards once I reached 11,026 as it was my goal to reach 11k in 3dMark05. I didn't have any issues overclocking the SLI setup.

Read all about it here.

I can say however that I achieved much higher mem speeds than the guys overclocing the Dell with the 7900gs, but I didn't overvolt the gpu so I wasn't able to push the main clock as high as they claim.

I've been playing Oblivion and F.E.A.R. on stock settings at 1920 x 1200 and it plays well, so there's really no reason to overclock this platform.

HH, thanks for the reply. Anyway, I would really like to know more details about your single 7900 GS getting in the 7300s using 3dmark05.

I am one of those Dell e1705 owners and I can *safely* voltmod and overclock my GPU to 550/1100 and get 8300 in 3dmark05. So if I can get around 8k with an m9700 of the same setup, I would switch, because I am not happy with the display on these Dells. I had the 1920x1200 one which was nice with the glossy display, but I could not get past everything sucking as far as graphics and font on the web. So I got the 1440x900 display and I miss the quality of the other one

Dell does not offer the e1705 with a 1440x900 glossy display, so I was thinking of going with the m9700.
