....this is becoming worse than the spinach recall...well, never mind, it's not.

What are some good choices for external batteries? I tried one that just really didn't work at all.

You should let us know which one you tried so it wont be suggested again

Sorry - I had asked this question before with all of these questions answered in a different post and no one answered it.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110 and I used an APS universal external battery that didn't do too well. However, I hooked it up while the battery was already dead so that may have shortened its life considerably.

Any suggestions? I really want something that will extend my battery life for about 4-6 more hours. I get about 2 hours out of the internal battery I have.

I dont think you are going to find anything that will give you 6-8 hrs.
While working on battery, is it for general computing or gaming. Gaming drains a battery significantly faster than general computing(classwork)

How about just getting another battery or two directly from Toshiba or off ebay?

Edit: BTW there is an 8 cell battery available for the A110's from Toshiba. It's part number PA3457U-1BRS. I'd guess that it'll last about 20-30% longer than the regular 6 cell that comes with it.
