So recently I toook my Gen 2 to get fixed. The AC adapter socket came loose on the motherboard and had to be re-soldered. Now when I plug the laptop in it says AC Adapter cannot be determined...must use 130w...ect. Does this mean my ac adapter took a dive on me. Is there any way I can reset it? Or should I just replace it.

OK Yimmy,

This is a WAG. Something happened so that the logic cannot determine which/what wattage adapter you have. So IF your battery is NOT discharging, and IF there are no other warnings THEN I'd say you have no problem. BUT what I would do if it's under warantee is have it fixed.

try another 130 watt adapter. if that doesn't work then you probably hooped something when resoldering the motherboard connection. i'd have to say that if you were under warranty it would have been better to get Dell to replace the motherboard for you, but if you had to resolder it i'm guessing you're out of warranty.
