Aspire 7100 Special Keys stopped working

Hi,
I use the Euro symbol on the keyboard a lot and recently the <alt gr> + 5 which should create the Euro symbol or the special key bottom right both stopped working. I keep services & running processes to a minimum so I thought I might have turned something off. Should there be special drivers for those keyboard keys to work? I called Acer and they couldn't help me.
Any assistance much appreciated.

what do u mean by stop working? was it coming out with different code? or just "nothing" like the key is dead/no effect
u can check the windows region/language option and select the keyboard layout and try it again
un.install/re.install the keyboard device can also help sometimes

Hello and thanks for replying.
The answer is #2. There is no sign of life. I hit the button and nothing happens. I notice that I don't have any special drivers for this keyboard, is that normal? Because I do have keys that are not the standard ibm 101/102 keyboard configurations. And no, changing to a french keyboard doesn't work either because <alt gr> + 5 = [ on a french keyboard, not the Euro symbol.
I spoke to Acer and they did not have any ideas except do a roll back. Doesn't work either. So they want to take it in for servicing. Seems a little extreme for such a minor irritation.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
