Windows ME: Worst OS ever.

To paraphrase the infamous Comic Book Guy (on the Simpsons):

"Worst OS ever."

Just let it die.

Let's all pretend we never heard of it... I mean, that's what Microsoft does, right?

Here's an idea for a lively thread: Name some other "Worst Ever" ideas...

Some things come to mind: BLINKING TEXT is one...

An IP-sharing module for a laptop is another... (Oooooo.... hissssss!)

Oi vey!

Oh come on, isn't all that worth it to see car wrecks? Rubber-necking from the comfort of your La-Z-Boy!

(Besides, there have been improvements in auto safety from studying those deadly high-speed crashes).

Here's another one: ELECTRIC CARS - not the hybrids, those are pretty cool (my wife drives a Prius), but the pure electric ones. Yeah, we're saving gas by burning tons of coal to generate the electricity needed to run these toys... sheesh.
True; I don't think Electric cars will have a place soon enough -- once Hydrogen is perfected and out in the market, Electric Cars will have been just a flashing moment.

Here's the mother of all bad ideas: Communism. That's right, it sucks. And it's not just "the execution of it" that sucks, that sucker sucks all the way back to the theory and the very concept of it.

Oh, and the communists' modern-day variation, the hippies, also suck majorly. They are all one massively huge bad idea. Yeah, you can bite my Republican behind, if you so desire.

Cheers.

Agreed Mrkat

I hate to hear the buzzwords of using electric-anything nowadays. It is absurd, people think that electricity is free or doesn't burn any fossil fuels to create. That is totally not true. And except for specific places, such as here in the northwest, where at least some of our energy is hydro, most all of it is from coal. One of the most foul and destructive fuels around. Having visited a coal plant once, I learned that they can, if run really effeciently, get UP TO 30% efficiency from burning coal. Pretty sweet. Anyway, I guess people like it cause they assume that since they are not producing any emissions themselves, it is not being produced at all.
Brussel Sprouts: Worst Vegetable Ever.
Civ III: worst sequel to a Game of the Year EVER.
Star Wars I: Worst Prequel to a hollywood classic ever.
Joe Millionaire, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Temptation Island, and Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire: Worst *REALITY* shows ever.
Ok, that is enough for now.
Nah, even worse 'reality' show is that one with the Celebrities all bitc*ing about being stuck in the wilderness.
Hey, I like CivIII Though you're right, it could be better. Brussel Sprouts aren't that bad either.
Worst 'current' comic movie spinoff: Daredevil. Predictable POS.

A republican Ivy leaguer? I thought I would never see the day.

Political partys suck because they dont debate issues, instead they attack each other. It doesnt get anything done.

Touché! Well, I think you are right. But then again, I'm not very political. I just hate the hippies. And I love the economy (well, I used to, back when it didn't SUCK). Normally though, I tend to keep out. I'm more of a technology buff than anything else.

Now, back to the topic. You know what is a really bad idea?

Recycling.

If you took a look at the unholy expense involved in turning all that used junk into new stuff, you would dislike the hippies as badly as I do. Newsflash: Recycling costs too much!

Cheers.
I disagree with you about recycling... a more efficient way may be needed, but recycling is a must.

While recycling is expensive, most new industries are. Costs will ultimately come down (whether it's a relative thing vs. increased costs of new/non-recycled material or just more efficient technologies).

I have always said that the best form of recylcing is RE-USE - that is, don't even put something through a process, just re-use is. Like passing that old computer off to someone in need, or saving the plastic grocery bags to use a couple more times.

My big gripe is the sheer amount of packaging that most items come in now-a-days. But no one wants to buy something new without opening up the box and packing materials!

Don't you mean LIBERALISM? Communism, as a theory is quite sound. Too bad human beings have free will and different temperments, that is the main failing of communal living. It will always break down in the presence of free will.

I remember when I was going through the first phases of getting a security clearance. The interviewer asked what I thought about communism, to which I replied it was a nice theory, but could not be put to practical use with our current stage of evolution... or something along those lines. He told me that was one of the best responses he's heard. Heh, that was a while ago...

I agree myrkat, both about recycling, AND nascar, sure, the gas costs nearly 5 bucks a gallon, and they go in a circle. But its not like they just walk off the street and hop into a car...they go 200MPH around the track, inches from the other cars bumpers, if you say that doesnt take skill(not you myrkat) Then i dont know what does, people have enough trouble doing this at 25 mph...heck even 5mph, *shudders*

hrm...worst idea ever...how can i contribute.....I dunno im tempted to say....microsoft? :-P I can't really complain, i use it for everything, i'd love to use nix, but sadly, i just can't game in nix, when that day comes, bye bye winblows

It's amazing to me how people dis on Windows...... I've NEVER had any problems with it.... are you guys sure you know how to use computers??????
lol, im an MCSE on 2k, been building computers since old 386 days....I know how to use em, and know how to fix em. Its just that linux is much more efficient in the way it does things, doesnt bsod randomly....linux is more stable, sure i've had my 2k server uptime like several months, i think its more that, theres not really much else out there, we are all pretty much forced to use windows, linux is like the AMD of OS's, similar to Windows is like Intel.

Windows gets bashed because its well, windows, and its all thats out there, so of course theres going to be problems with it. You can't tell me you've never cursed windows for doin somethin wrong, explorer crashing, bsod, anything?
I've had about 2 BSOD's in my life... and they were on Win95.. since switching to 98SE and now Win2000 I haven't had any or crashed... I've truly never had any problems.. If a program stalls I can Ctl-Sht-Esc my way out without crashing the whole system... better than my girlfriend on her Mac who has to do a restart to get it to respond...
