FS Amilo Xi 1546 BAD keyboard layout/design

I can not believe that Fujitsu-Siemens passed the keyboard design and layout for the new Amilo Xi 1546!! Whoever designed it should be fired! Immediately, hehe.

It looks like the person started laying out the keys from the left and then ran out of space toward the right, so they just started squashing the keys to fit in. It's pathetic, really bad.

The laptop is GREAT, high end specs all over, but i was sorely dissapointed with the keyboard. It's SUCH an inconvenience that i'm considering taking it back.

Come on Fujitsu-Siemens!!! - What an amateurish mistake on such a nice machine. It just seems like pure lazyness.

Perhaps best to send your opinion to the maker/designer, Uniwill. F-S (like Alienware) just sell them.

I've used my Xi 1546 for about a month now and can say that while I also thought that the keyboard layout was designed poorly I also think it's pretty much an issue of getting used to something new. I usually type with both my hands on the keyboard not looking at the keys and at first with this keyboard it was really diffucult, especially for the right hand. But after a few weeks using this keyboard has become quite easy for me.

Obviously for games and such this keyboard sucks but then again so does every laptop keyboard. For typing there are obviously better keyboards with more tighter feel to the keys and a more spacious layout but I have to say that this keyboard isn't as bad I first thought it was. You just have to get used to it. Or you can always wait a bit and order Razer Tarantula (which I bet will be way better and cooler than Logitech G15 is).

Dude, are you insane?! You're considering replacing it only because of a bad keyboard layout? Why bother, sell it to me XD

It's like JohnBurrows said: It's only a mather of habit. You'll soon find it natural and won't even think about it. By the way, you're keyboard is the one that has a numpad on the right, correct? That would explain why they squished the keys .

I was going to purchase that system too, but I decided to go for the M3438, almost half the price at the time. Just out of curiosity: have you ever benchmarked that baby with 3dMark2005? How does it score?
