do u have any power in the battery? if so, u'll need to check the system specs. click on the apple in the upper left and hit "about this mac". if u don't have any juice, your first step will be to get a power adapter. u can get one from Apple or an alternative is...

There is no such thing as a PowerBook Mercury.

There's the Titanium G4 PowerBook and the Aluminium G4 PowerBook, however.

lol, i completely spaced on that. i read it and somehow attributed it to the hard drive locking feature. :S

go to the shiny apple store (the huge glass box with a giant white apple in it) on 5th street and buy a power adapter there. the adapters didn't change until the MacBook so chances are they will have them in stock. i hear it's open 24/7, too...

um... you are sure this is not *hot* right because a bare powerbook without any accessories just smells like someone nicked it from somewhere...

yea he gave me,althought its worthless now his warranty papers and a car charger the regular charger he eventually gave me was damn near destroyed, so whenever i get the chance to be in a car is when i charge it, its in no way "hot" i even bought os x just out of excitement of not using windows, lol it seems so much i guess i could say fresher then windows, in nearly every way, there are things that i would end up still using my pc for, but wow i would end up using the mac as much as i can

other then the charger which shall be replaced shortly, whats the compatability like with pcmcia wifi cards?
Running the latest version of OS X, pretty much any card should work right out of the box. Plus there are USB wireless adaptors now too.
