M5550 Wireless problem!!!

I have a problem with my new M5550. It keeps dropping my internet connection. When it does, and I try to reconnect, it says "Problem applying profile!". I am new to wireless networks, but am pretty sure it is connected correctly, since I can stream music from my desktop to my laptop. Also, I have no problems with internet connectivity when the wireless network is connected. As I am still ironing out all of this, I have the security turned down/off so as not to interfere with anything. The wireles router I have is a D-Link WBR-2310. Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, got a hold of a friend of mine who helped me through this. IF anyone else is having a problem with network connectivity, uninstall the "intel wireless Pro" program and just use windows to manage your Wi-Fi connections. My M5550 shipped with both programs running and it caused a conflict. Also, for all those security savvy people, don't forget to update windows if you are using WPA2. You will need to download a WPA2 fix. It is hot fix # KB893357.

Glad you got if fixed, shadz. Same thing happened with my m5500 - wireless wouldn't work at all, then I let Windows take over managing it, and it's worked like a dream!

I assume you're enjoying your new m5550?

So far. Still trying to iron out the connectivity problem though. Not sure why, but I'm still disconnecting for no reason. I have now removed the wireless card profile from the device manager and have reinstalled it. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Won't know till I keep it running for awhile, and since I was out all night, it will have to wait till tomorrow(sunday).

I blame your d-link...I always have problems connecting, and when I do, I have connectivity problems.

Try using WEP instead of WPA...see if that resolves the issue. My d-link has a problem with that...also try running a desktop fan on it too...lol, it helps in some situations

Actually, I don't have any of the wireless security turned on right now, just so I can diagnose the connectivity problems. I'm not sure what is causing it.
