Formatting and setting up a 8790

I've had the current Windows installation on for about 3 years now and I feel that it would be the right time to clean everything up and reinstall everything from 0.

I think I still have the old manual and software, but I can't really count on that. Is there anywhere where a 8790 user could find ALL the drivers / software necessary for windows to fully recognize the devices and for the lappy to work correctly?

Also, I remember there was a particular order installation for drivers on this machine, is there anywhere I can find it?

Thanks!

Are you sure you want to re-install everything? Some people have experienced artifacting after they have installed new video drivers.

I think I changed video drivers around 20 times so far and I've had all sorts of horrendous artifacting that was fixed and then reappeared again during the past three years, so that doesn't really scare me. In fact, the latest caprice of my 8790 are all black pixels being drawn as red pixels on the screen when the lappy heats up a little bit, or when the monitor is at certain angles. Pressing hard on certain portions of the body, a little below the keyboard and also close to the monitor joint helps get the right colors back for about 5 seconds. This is going to be my 5th RMA

Anyway, back to the original topic, does anybody have other suggestions?

You can find the maual at eurocom, if you don't have it. It describes how to install all the drivers. Best best is to start with Sager for the drivers and then supplement the Video and Sound drivers from their respective sites.

None of the drivers are newer than 2004. Don't know that any've been upgraded since then. Could always search Clevo's site if you wanted to double-check.

Your probably better off just installing from the stock drivers. At least then, you know they'll work without a hitch.
