my coworkers got some nice laptops and we were wondering which lid you guys think was the better looking one (as its the first thing you see when walking into the office, the lids facing everyone).

Compal HEL 80 lid

xps. thought the xps itself imo is ugly. extra ugly with the extended battery but its a good laptop. my m5n was even uglier lol.

asus is 2nd

hel80 is pure bad

None of them. Believe me, if you saw the Ferrari lid (pictures don't do it justice), the choices above are laughable...

you cant compare ferrari and lambo lids with some normal lid. 50% of the cost of those laptops are in the design and finish

Anyway, from *those three*, I think the XPS has a more cool looking, but I would prefer the W7J for its "sober" appearance.

personally i like dell's lid, however that asus looks better, more discrete, in an office environment

Yeah, I think you could be right. Things are different in the States.

The reason I agree with you, is that about the same time as the Ferrari came out they were producing Travelmate 8104's with a chequered metalic finish (very much like QHN's Emachine). Acer didn't advertise this, they didn't even warn you if you were going to get one with the metalic finish. They didn't charge you any more for it, just gave it away.

well im waiting for the 5006 ferrari. thats like 2700cnd and for a similar comp with those specs i could find for around 1600cnd so its pretty expensive.
