Power adapter compatibility?

Thread Starter
Hey, just a quick question.

The pa-13 adapter (model: PA-1131-02D) is 130W, works in XPSGen2 and Inspiron 5150s and 5160s.

I have another adapter laying around somewhere. It's a 120W, and it's model is PA-1121-12H.

Anyone know if the latter would work in place of the former in a 9300?

As long as the connectors are physically identical they should work fine. Dell made sure that all power bricks with the same physical connector could run any laptop in some capacity (if the notebook doesn't like the lower wattage it'll tell you it's not going to run in max performance mode.)

providing that the adapter fits and same polarity (disclaimer statement )
. same V, more A = cool
. same V, less A = hmmm
. less V, more A - if it is between .5 difference, u can get away with a little bit of murder

look at ur battery specs - V? A? - try not to keep the ac under these
look at ur cpu spec - how much W does it require? add 20-40% on top, then u can decide what W is needed from the brick

my 2 cents ...

i see, u want the specific/confirmation, well then, personally: . i would write the 120w (PA-1121-12H) off my list - this is according to specs an adjustable adapter. I cannot see the adjustment step (.5?, 1?). . i m always weary about one size-fit-all power adapter . oh, it "would work" if the jack fits (9300 comes with 90w so the W is ok) cheers ...
