**NEW** Windows VISTA 5728 BETA (Free DOWNLOAD) - Page 4

since I loaded 5728 I have not been able to boot up Vista since, I just get a black screen .

Anyone know how to get rid of all the Boot Up Vista selections from the boot startup options.

It says you have to use the Vista editor, but I can't seem to locate it.

Dave, did you set it up as:

1) Single Boot
2) Dual Boot
3) Virtual Machine

I set it up as a Dual Boot, on a second HD (d Drive)

So I can Boot XP on C Drive, or Vista on D Drive

It was all working (less Sli Mode) until I tried loading 5728, now vista won't run at all,

I reformated my D drive, and tried installing Vista RC1, no luck either

Not sure if there are some reisidual files on the C drive that still maybe screwing up my Vista installation on D drive

But after several attempts I have a Boot Loader with multiple Vista options

Still looks like something messed up as far as running Vista

I guess next weekend I will format C drive and try loading Vista again

Here's the deal. I installed Vista on my laptop, replacing Windows XP. I want to go back to XP MCE becuase I'm basically sick of Vista's errors and incompatabilities, but I can't seem to get Dell Backup to work. I know you're suppposed to hit Crtl + F11 when the blue dell bar appears above (I've done it before), but now that bar doesn't show up and I can't get into the backup to get XP MCE back on my laptop (and I don't have a backup disk). Please help, I need XP back on my laptop!

You probably deleted the partition that comes with the computer for the Dell Backup. If it's gone, you're only option would be to reinstall Windows via an OS CD. That happened to me and I called Dell and explained my problem. Within 2 business days, the CD was at my door.

Nah, the partition is definetly there.

Try F8 - this should give you the option of selecting an operating system, if another exists of course.

If no other system exists then the only option is to re-formatt and re-install. Vista RC1 has no roll back function so only wiping it will work.
