Blue screen appears when ac is unplugged

Thread Starter
Basically what the title says. Windows crashes upon unplugging the AC cable from the outlet, and shows the blue screen. If i leave the plug out of the outlet, then the notebook automatically shuts down. I then have to wait about 10min before I start up again or else the Boot screen doesn't show, and the LCD is black.

I recently installed AVG 7.5 Beta and Toshiba Power Saver- could one of these be the issue?

My System:Tohsiba A15-S129, Windows XP Pro SP2, Celeron 2.4ghz, 512mb RAM.

what is AVG 7.5?

If the issue came up after installing........

AVG 7.5 is a Beta version... It could be a bug that's causing the instability.

I'd remove it and install the previous version and see what happens.

Also, I'm not sure if the Toshiba Power Saver utility is universal... So you may want to make sure that you've installed the correct version for your particular model.

ya...the toshiba power saver is very specific to the series/model (ie who/where/when they were made)
