Hi everyone just thought id let you all know, I have had vista Rc1 now for a couple of weeks, and have had no luck on getting the realtek sound card or the wireless adapter to work, until today that is,
I tried to install the wireless drivers again using the combo bluetooth and wireless drivers for the 9860 on the sagger web site the file is called 11GBT_D900T, i just selected the wireless drivers to install and it worked first time
I dont understand how either vista has patched it from an update or the fact that i installed drivers for my buffalo pcmcia wireless card before hand for i have been using the buffalo card to get on the net.
Anyway just thought id let you know and if anyone can get the realtek sound card to work please let us all know

I've gotten everything to work in RC1 except sound, modem, and TV tuner. I've tried every kind of combination of manufacturer and Sager/Clevo drivers and nothing works. In perusing the XP drivers for these devices, I've noticed that the moden and TV tuner make use of many of the driver files installed by the sound card driver installer. So my guess is that if someone can get the sound card working first, the rest can be done too.

As CP said earlier, there is a problem with BSOD introduced by a particular Windows patch (KB888111?) that seems to have found its way into Vista as well. That might suggest that the problem could be solved by Microsoft. However, owners of 9880 and 9890 systems are able to get their sound card (also ALC880 AFAIK) working without BSODing. So it seems to me that it is probably the case that the ultimate cause of the problem was identified in an early defective hardware version, and we would need Sager to provide all us 9860 owners mobo fixes. To that all I can say is: don't expect hell to freeze over when there is money that can be made through upgrade purchases.

Thanks for that bit of info starcub I didnt know that 9880 and 9980 systems
had the same sound card and that theres work It does sound more likely now that our problem is hardware or maybe a bios update, and i agree with you that its unlikely that clevo/sagger are going to bother about what they will consider such an old system, So it looks like ill have to make do with my audigy card for my sound with some external speakers.
thanks again for you reply

Ive had issues with some BSODS on my 9890 with its built in realtech with Far Cry if I turned any hardware acceleration on. Only way around it was turn it down or to find an older driver. With an older driver it didnt do it.

Or when I put my audigy 2 card in. That may not help directly with your issue but I had problems with most recent drivers.
