The FedEx guy rang the doorbell about an hour ago. My brand spankin' new Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processor came today! I wanted to upgrade the processor in my 2 month old Sager 5760 from a 2.0 GHz Core Duo (T2500) to the same speed Core 2 Duo (T7200). I'm currently running Vista RC1 x86. My ultimate goal is to run the 64 bit version of the same.
The source of most of my information on "how to" came from this article.
Below is my brief description of how to do it yourself.

Before you begin, UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER and REMOVE THE BATTERY. Next find a surface with plenty of room and place down a soft cloth/towel. Turn the notebook over and remove the 12 screws that hold on the main cover. It should now look something like this:

Next remove the 4 screw that attach the processor heat pipe (near the left/rear of the computer). Remove them in the order shown on the heat pipe. Carefully lift off the heat pipe and place it aside.
Using a straight screwdriver, turn the screw that locks the processor in place. It should lift out easilly. If if does NOT, you have not turned the screw enough to unlock the pins. Place it aside as well.

The new Core 2 Duo processor should drop right in. Note the pin placment. The little triangle should be pointing north west (i.e. it will be in the upper left hand corner). Gently turn the locking screw.

Apply a thin layer of thermal grease to the surface of the Core 2 Duo procesor and replace the heat pipe. Be sure to follow the directions as to the order of the the four heat pipe screws. Finally replace the main cover with the 12 screws.
If all went to plan (and with a little luck) when you replace the battery, plug in the power and turn on the computer, you will see the old "Core Duo" logo repalced with a generic "Intel" logo.

Here are before and after screen shots showing the Sager 5760 running the CPU-Z application on Windows Vista (with Sidebar gadgets running on the right hand side).
