When I start up xp... the wav file stutters like crazy and the mouse is eratic..
i have some performance hit and not sure how to check system monitor.
I posted the paste at the bottom of this message from another thread i started about video stuttering - I think its more than that at this poit so i wanted to post a fresh header since it's the whole machine thats gone to pot.

Hi, I have a Sager 9750 (a power house laptop) that I tried capturing some video on with a 2nd sata 5400 drive. everything worked great. (new drive) using scenalyzer - then installed vegas 5, etc for remote job.
then I installed a wireless mouse logitect trackman - now the computer does wierd things, i had issues with that software on another desktop and now I really kick myself because I think it might have been the problem!
i uninstalled the mouse program and then did a system restore back to when it was installed - also uninstalling my editing sofwtare = but I know that worked.
using scenalyzer live for capture - a reliable program!
after the mouse install and even now - the video drops frames like crazy and the audio is slo - moooooowwwww. basically stuttering all over the place.
I really think it has to do with system performance somewhere and not the drive speed - tried both sata drives - but where to find the problem?? - especially because i can capture fine on an old hp pavilion zt 1180 - just needed drive space for larger projects and a faster computer...
the computer is not really loaded up yet, only two programs... whats the best way to fix this... just do a total restore and download all the latest drivers?
yes, i unstalled the logitech mouseware pregram short of going into the system registry and removing any trace... if I have to go that route - will a roll back about a week just fix the problem and start over?
OK, thanks for the help..... what ever clues you can think of! AMD 64 3500+ PROCESSOR 1 GIG OF RAM
SAGER - 2 120 GIG SATA DRIVES (5400)
NOW JUST DISCOVERED THAT EVEN WINDOWS START UP WAV FILE STUTTERS.. so what ever is going on is not too good
OK --- what to do??
thanks wayne
