Points to codef, fellow Anandtech'r

Thinking about the deal since I've got a Sony FX-120 that's been my dead-8790 backup. Just a PITA to do this since I'm in Japan

Could hyogen please post his contact info, or send me a PM please?

i'd be happy to give you my contact info...and I'll PM it to you. But I'd like to ask for everyone to just PM me their phone #.

There was a guy complaining on the previous thread--he called me..... I was telling him about the deal...all of a sudden we get disconnected with me having NO hint that he wasn't interested.... so I tried calling him back...and back and back a few times a day. And then he finally picks up the phone and says: Leave me alone...

So I didn't think he knew it was me, so I call back from my cell phone...and he goes "That goes with you too".....

And then he flames me on the forums saying I called him 9 million times and didn't get a hint... :-/

So yeah, please PM me your name and #. Thanks

there's a hugenormous thread at fatwallet about this..

<---yeah that's where I'm from in case you couldn't tell lol

and a smaller one at slickdeals.

People are complaining about the battery life and noisy fans on the BX. I would've gone in on the deal if better notebooks were offered. Which they will do come sometime in October - $400 trade for any notebook, $600 for a Sony.

If you have a Dell, please register it on Sony's site BEFORE the end of this month. It goes down to $400 after this month. Everything will be $400 next month, $600 for a Sony.

You don't have to buy from me, just register the Dell before this month! You'll get your prepaid shipping labels (Fedex) for your trade-in.

What kind of deals (if any) on the BX6 series are coming up? I've got an ANCIENT Vaio that I would love to get the $600 out of, but don't want anything but a Core 2 system.
None of the Sonys (from what I could tell) sport a C2D CPU. I want the same thing. But, for what it's worth, you can get the Sony, resell it and then put the money towards a C2D machine.

Well, technically ANY laptop using a Core Duo can run a Core 2, the just need to add support for it in the BIOS. Will they? Who knows.

so today is the last day you can order and get the $500 for the Dell trade-in. next month it's $400 for a Dell, $600 for Sony.

Please PM me with your PHONE NUMBER. thanks!

Just click on the link you provided me. It asks what model Sony you bought. When you click on the pull-down menu there are a lot more than the BX series. Here is also a quote from the Trade Up 3 link page:
Quote:
Promotion Details For a limited time, you can you can trade in your qualifying notebook and receive at least $400 cash back when you purchase a VAIO BX, SZ, TX or UX Series business notebook. Trade in a qualifying Sony PC and receive a minimum $600 trade.
So, any of them Core 2 laptops?

Chillin at work, using the free (and unfiltered) wifi our building provides for patients/guests on my BX540

I-net is monitored/filtered big time for employees, so it's been a WELCOME puchase, especially on this s...l...o...w... Sunday. I can surf and watch my fantasy football scores without a worry in the world!

Thanks again Justin for the deal!
