That notebook will be pretty kick ass. You should be able to go up to 1280x800 res at least with high graphic settings on new games. CS source should almost max out.

I play Counterstrike: Source on high settings at 1280x800...

... on a Radeon 9600.

You'll be fine.

You need to relax... btw I play css 1024x768 medium settings on a slightly OCed radeon 9000 and get 40-50fps. I think the 7600 will play it at max res just fine.

No AA or AF, and no HDR; back when I played CSS they hadn't released HDR support.

About 30-40 fps.

30-40 is not very smoothe at all. thats pretty bad lag.

i had a 9600xt (xt much faster then laptop 9600) for a short period of time (selling comps). 1280*1024 with nothing on, turn on high 30fps max

An average of 30-40 fps can sometimes indicate "lag", when the fps jumps from 60 to 10, but a sustained fps of 35 fps isn't "lag".

umm aintz i play around 30fps. and i would know. I'M THE ONE with the computer. sorry pal, but when it comes to MY GAMING EXPERIENCE, the guy with the info is ME. now if you think you know more about my system than i do, you've just lost all credibility.

I play CS:S @ 1920x1200 HDR, EVERYTHING on HIGH.... oops i just wet myself...
I also play 64-bit HL2 at the same and get over 70fps.

The 7600 is a good card comparitively. It does take a few hits from the latter series of cards, but like said above, keep the resolutions down around 1280x800(960) and you should play great! My MR9800 in my XPS Gen1 gamed well with these games so the 7600 should do a bit better.

it should run it fine...

hahahah dumb newb gtfo off the forum please. 30fps hjahhahahahaha. make up more stuff
post #17 of 61
Aintz, you can't tell him to get off the forum. And also your name calling only shows that you have nothing to support your argument with and you're back to the "just because" crap. Maybe he lowered the graphics and tweaked the game. I dont think he said it was maxed.

2 2 many n00bs. 7600.

dear THEn00b:
go home buy a laptop with 7600 and play oblivion with hdr on and tell me what fps you get.
He never said all the graphics were maxed. He just said HDR was on. That alone wont slow the 7600 down to 5fps. The 7600 CAN play Oblivion smoothly with HDR on as long as you keep everything else modest.
