You think you have bad luck? I been fighting with alienware about my laptop. I did find out what was wrong with it not booting up, but i'm returning it. It's just not worth it to have it fixed if it's going to come back the same way it shipped before.

Just courious what was the reason why it didn't boot up for you? I spent hours with AW TS on the line but couldn't figure it out so the only option was to send it back! I totally agree that sending non-functioning systems to the customers is a serious failure of the company. It looked like I am the only one with such a problem so that's why I called it "Bad Luck" for myself! Now I can see they sent bad comp to others as well - what should I think? Will there be any official response from AW on that?

The only thing I want is to get my lappie back soon and damned FEDEX does not help it either!

sounds like you got a real nightmare there tiny...this is what i'm afraid of with buying an alien. i'd have one heck a long distance bill from TS cause I'm not in the US and then shipping and handling bill would really have me if i had to send it back. wheras i think Dell is in my country... do i take a chance or not

I'm having a real nightmare with them now. They want me to pay the restocking fee even though the system is defective. On a good note the credit card company is looking into it, hopefully i won't have to pay .

Tiny, the reason my system didn't boot up was because the graphics card got fried. It took TS 2 1/2 hours to come to that conclusion and 1hr 45mins for my battery problem.

Hey guys, my 5750 has a ram slot problem..... I posted a thread of my own detailing my nightmare...... and I was hoping so much that something like this wouldnt happen. I just hate the thought of not having my computer for most of a month.....

I was thinking about asking for 100% refund on non functioning system they've shipped to me. I gave AW another chance to gain reputation - will see what they'll come up with. Anyway, BlackBull, keep posted with a follow up on your experience on getting your money back... Cheers!

I'll keep you up to date on it, but just remember you might have to pay the 15% restocking fee like i'm going though.

I had >1 hour call with CS... Waited until I get to speak to supervisor. Described the situation for the "zillionth" time... When I started to ask him what alternatives do I have he was pretty much saying I have to pay re-stocking fee if I cancel or change (I am not good in arguing) even though I had DOA ... However, he assured me (again :-/)they gonna have it fixed by FRIDAY (VIP priority & rush order)... Also he gave me his initials and personally look at the progress and giving me feedback... I wish I knew how to be more persuasive and agressive over the phone but I guess I am that type of guy that sales people will make to buy whatever they want...

I am courious how this turns out. This is REALLY my last cup of patience with AW!

keep us posted Tiny, hope you get your laptop soon!

tiny, did you just ask him if you could get credit for the 5750 applied to an m9700?

CIT in Miami is the best AW has to offer, so I'm sure if they can't get it repaired they'll work with you on an exchange or upgrade.

CIT agents have more flexibility and power to make decisions, so if they contact you definitely ask if you can just trade up to an m9700 and pay the difference, they might say yes.

with all the trouble tiny's been going through i don't think he should have to pay to get an upgrade . His case makes AW look really bad . it's making me think twice bout getting a laptop from them
