My LCD went bad in my i9300. I have had this computer since April 2005 with zero problems.
I called tech support and after doing the tests they scheduled on site replacement of the monitor. I also had them replace the speakers as mine seemed to be going bad.
I originally had the LG monitor and received a Samsung for replacement.
I had been very happy with my LG monitor as it had no dead pixels and the light leakage went away. I was a bit worried about getting the Samsung replacement as I have read here that many were not happy with the Samsung.
The replacement was new/refurbished and I must say so far I love the new monitor! It is MUCH BRIGHTER and after adjusting the settings the colors are better than on my old LG. There are no dead pixels and leakage is minimal. One thing I do see which I didn’t on the lg is the ‘sparkles.’ There was a big uproar about them last year and now I can see what people were talking about. To me they are not a big deal.
The tech guy was very nice and we chatted about the dell support. I asked him about people who take advantage of the system and he said, “Yeah those people are flagged by dell.” Dell will sometimes instruct him to talk with the customer and to refuse replacement if the customer seems to be trying to pull a fast one.. He said that he has seen dell cancel a customers warranty because of abuse.
I must say I was very happy with the experience and I am glad I have complete care.
The only downside is that my speakers still make a buzzing sound at a certain frequency. I am not sure what to do.
