I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...

This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented. Overall A+++

Awesome systems & awesome pics.
The extended battery looks a bit thick. From the pics, I see that the extended battery sort of raise the front of the D420 a bit. Is that true?
I'll love to see more pictures, especially with the D420 turned on. Enjoy your new laptop.
It sure looks classy!

Very nice!! Heard some good things about the D420. How is it? Anything good and/or bad things about it? The extended battery looks okay, we have the D410 are work and it's the same but it's kind of good since it acts like a palm rest for me it's fine. But awesome, good to post more pics like SPEED said when it's turned on.

You are right. the battery raise in front of the body of the laptop.
and I think the screen is quite bright and clean. I had to set the brightness of my E1505 to maximium. but on the d420, I can read with the brightness set at middle. I guess, the glossy screen is kind of hard to see in a bright room. 12" sure has less light leakage at the bottom than the 15". But the resolution is low... now I have to scroll more.
the good and bad?
bad stuff first.
one,the battery life isn't that good. I got a refurbished one. but I think the battery should be pretty new, right? I can get a little over 5 hours out of it, with wifi always on. I was expected 12hrs as dell claims, or 7hrs as other people's review.
two, it gets warm, at the right end. the fan's on quite often. but it's not noise. it's whispering.
third, the touchpad buttons. I got one with fingerprint reader. the two button below the touchpad are too small IMO. the two above don't have much response while you press them. kind of loose.
other than these, it's cool.
good things. light! it's really light. I had a 700m before, and E1705, and E1505. comparing to those, d420 is light....
very well built. it feels sturdy. I thouht the E1505 is very well built. but latitude is better. the chasis feels so good
I love the fingerprint/security chip. you can have a file vault now. put anything you want to keep secret in it and open it bye swiping your finger, I like it.
the wifi catcher, I haven't use it yet.
another trouble I had is, I can't install McAfee VirusScan on this system. at the end of the installation, the machine just freeze there. I can't boot into windows anymore. Maybe it's just my version (specially compiled by my university). now I am use avast, which is great and free.
I love it. and it's not as slow as I imagined. office, acrobat opens in seconds. I haven't tried many though.
oh, SPEED, they are sending me a 1G stick. so I'll have 1.5G after that.
did you guys know how small the harddrive on this thing is ?
I was surprised.
there are a lot of things to play with. like, disable/enable the stick/touchpad while typing... the light sensor.
another thing is the sd reader. when you pop in a sd card, it doesn't stick out like the E1505/E1705. the whole card goes into the laptop. I think it's good. I can now leave a 1G SD card inside the laptop all the time, as a backup partition.
