Grats on the new system! I recieved the same system from Bal last Friday. I reformated the HD and now my m1710 runs much faster. Now to install Oblivion and have some fun.

I love this laptop but trying to and getting use to the laptop keyboard is another story.

Glad you both got them ok guys ;0

Speaking from personal experience I have a MX5000 Bluetooth mouse and keyboard combo that I love

and the other mandatory investment is a D-Dock

I got mine offa Ebay for $60 and threw in a X-Fi Extreme Music sound card and hooked it up to my 2407. talk about slammin sound and graphics.

I ran 3dmark05 before I did anything and I got a 8550. I should be able to add 1000 points to that with a nice clean drive I need to find the time to do it...

I just uninstalled the crap I didn't want and ran a registry cleaner. I didn't know about the Dell de-crapifier at the time. Could have made things easier.

Anyways I scored around 8550 out of the box. T2600 2gbram 7900gtx 512mb. I noticed that some people that reformatted with the same system as mine still got around the same score after.

In the end formatting is better, its just such a pain re-installing everything and my system has been running great so far for benchmarks etc..

I don't think your get an extra 1000points. Suprised your 3dmark score wasn't a little higher with the core2duo chip.

The keyboard already has the standard full-size key spacing of 19 mm.
