Should i switch? - Page 3

I don't want to buy a MAC for the opposite reason that you "hear" a lot of people give for wanting to buy a MAC.

In other words, I've had so little problems with Windows over the last 20 years, why should I switch to a OS that requires me to start from scratch, find new apps that provide the same functionality as my current Windows apps, limit my options of hardware vendors that use that OS, and risk dealing with files sharing problems with my PC associates.

I'm not knocking the MAC. It's probably an excellent hardware choice and has a great OS, but does anyone using a MAC ever wish they had a docking station?

i like my mac, but i miss the pure speed of how apps acted in XP.

ill probably make the switch back to a pc in JAN.

the make just seems like its not "optimized" to run with the specs it has. its just slow. and trust me, ive tweaked it.

yes yes, me too. i especially like loading into windows, clicking on a quick launch icon, and waiting a minute and half for it to load while all the crap continues to load. :\ (mind u, when OS X boots in 40 seconds, and i click on an app in the dock it gives a couple bounces and loads). right now i'm on the cusp of a re-install to try and get back my external storage functionality (iPod, flash stick, and hard drives don't mount), which went out after 6 months of a prior windows install.

the only thing i really use the windows machine for is games and photoshop projects (read: 19" monitor). to each their own i guess.
