Continueing AC Adapter Problem [Inspiron 6000]

I bought my Inspiron 6000 a few months ago and I have had no problems with the laptop itself, but one thing that has been a continueing and extremly annoying problem is the AC adapter. Since I got the laptop I have gone through about 3 AC Adapters and I have no idea what is happening to them. I have never dropped them or had any damage done to them, and there is no damage that I can see on the Ac Adapters. They simply just stop working. I don't now how they break, but when I pluged them into a power outlet the little green light just doesn't show up.

The first one that broke I threw out and I got a new one from Dell. Then the one I got from dell broke. I decided not to throw it out and kept it. I got another one from dell and have been using that one until today because it's not working anymore today . I decided just for the heck of it I would try the old one, and it worked. So I was happy for a little while until that one stoped working, so i got the other one, and it was working again, so I was happy again. However, soon it stoped working. I tried the other one and it didn't work, so now neither of them work anynmore. I'm using my dad's work's laptop AC Adapter right now.

So I'm just wondering. Why are these AC Adapters deciding not to work on me? The only thing I can think of is that I have my computer plugged into the outlet almost all the time, and it is usually on. I don't see why, but does the charger possibly need a rest every now and then?

Is there anyone else out there that has been having this problem? Please help me out of anyone nows what's going on.

Every AC Adapter is the same (including dad's).
-----------------------------------------------------

Info.:

65W-AC ADAPTER
PA-12 Family
MODEL NO.: PA -1650-05D2
DP/IN: F7970

INPUT: AC 100-240V~1.5A(1,5A)
50-60Hz

OUTPUT: DC 19.5V 3.34A(3,34A)

-----------------------------------------------------

Hope that's the information that you needed. I just wrote down what I saw on the back of the AC Adapter. Like I said, they all say the same thing on the back. Also, there all from Dell and no other source.

they r the correct specs. it is odd that they just die and revive and die.
try to run mobmeter and see what the battery health level is. it could be that this might have something to do with the adapter just kinda "shorting" out?
the other possibility i can think of is heat, u can try another power outlet? or better yet, plug the adapter to a secured extension, the one with a built-in fuse

cheers ...

Well I usually use my laptop regularly in three different rooms and there's like 2 - 4 outlets to choose from in each room.

mobmeter- What's this?

I had a similar experience too as my first AC adapter that came with my 6000 stopped working as well after a few months (the green light stopped coming on).

So I contacted Dell and they sent me a replacement. The new AC adapter is fine so I don't know what the problem you have could be. Could it have something to do with your wall outlet??
