I'm almost 100% sure that the motherboard of my comp is dead. Unfortunately Sager does not make my computer anymore. Does anyone have a junk sager that i can get a working motherboard from or...does anyone want to buy mine off of me? I'd rather fix mine but heh. Any help and advice appreciated.

Dont give up yet!

try posting the problem with your laptop and any details you have noticed.

a member of this forum may have some good advice that will help, perhaps something that you havent tried yet.

2. it would not work without the AC
3. it would power on sometimes
4. the cd player worked but the rest of the comp didn't (didn't boot up)
5. noticed the lcd light that indicates power to motherboard not on
6. replaced AC but didn't solve problem
7. replaced circuit board that connects power to the mother board but that didn't solve the problem
8. by now nothing including the cd player will turn on
9. externalized the hard drive for cartoon watching purposes

just curious.... where did you get the circuit board that connects power to the mobo?
I do believe that mine is shot. PC works fine while plugged in but it will not charge or run off a battery (yes I have bought a new batt just to make sure) My guess would be the area on the mobo right where the power plugs in. Any ideas?

Both the External Power supply and the internal batties connect to the main motherboard!

My D800P wouldn't work. Sent it it away and got it fixed. Needed a new bit of memory and some work around the memory holder!. It now works.

Have you tried the service manual symatics and trace the problem on the board using a megger meter?
My old 8880E would work and mate traced it down to a diode on the mother board.

I got that circuit board from Sager directly. They looked my comp specs up and sent it out. Good luck, that board was my last attempt to fix my comp.

nope. I just spoke to the Sager folks and they seemed pretty sure of my problem. I will try that.
