Horrible Fujitsu service - is this normal?

At the end of June I recommended to my girlfriend to buy a Fujitsu N3530. After numerious troubles with their Windows driver package (when installing XP Pro), it finally broke at the beginning of September.

We took it to a local MA service shop that is doing warranty for Fujitsu. It has quickly been diagnosed as a broken mainboard, but Fujitsu just didn't ship a replacement. It took 23 days to get ahold of a new mainboard, and that is after my girlfriend called both the shop and Fujitsu every day.

Is that normal? 23 days to ship a part? The repair shop says yes (but doesn't really say anbody else is better).

I should mention Fujitsu's repair partner in Northborogh is very helpful, it's certainly not their fault.

Its possible that the moterhbord was out of stock at the time of the order. It is also possible that Fujitsu, realizing that there was a design flaw, may have been re-engineering and the new board is the result of that re-engineering.

Good thought. But why wouldn't they say so?

The shop said that at first they diagonsed a bad RAM module and didn't receive that either. I dunno what to think.

as i have seen FSC acting when they have troubles - ostrich... hope some day somebody will make concrete floor and they die.

THEY ARE BAD WITH CUSTOMERS - no matter which country you're in. RMA suck badly that is what you get when save 200EUR.

i have amilo 3438 - they never repaired it. and in first 3 month of usage (like 12 weeks) in service center it was for about 6 of that time and nothing is repaired.

they say - 2 weeks is maximum time - it is minimal also. (at least here, where i live)

and almost every FSC unit had it's flaws.

No bigger probs with my fujitsu - but the next one will be something else.

hmm..not sure about fujitsu service elsewhere..
but in singapore, they are really good and fujitsu is one of the preferred laptop brand in singapore.. many of my friends and myself are using fujitsu.. very happy with them so far for all of us..
