M90 - Steel backing is delaminating..

Ok, so this is really frustrating.

No more than a month ago, i modded my 9300 with a M90 case. Well, now it seems that the steel backing on the lid is coming off! The side by the CD is appears to have stress on it somewhere, and for some reason, is popping up. Anyone else have this happen to them? I know i probably could fix it - small bit of glue under the seperation, and then held tight by a C-Clamp for a bit.. but since its such a PIA to take apart, i thought i would ask first.

Yeah, I really have no idea what you're talking about, pics would help. Could have to do with the fact you changed one of the hinges out so you could fit that lid.

hehe.. wassup man! Yeah, i am still around, but sporting a Dell now (good lord, did i actually just say that.... ).

I gotta say, the newest Dell series has really impressed me; you would not regret checking them out.

And yeah, i'll get some pics for you. Basically, the shiny steel part of the lid is coming off of the rest. I doubt its the hinge, since i measured, and they are the same exact size all the way around. but who knows.

man i wish i could help..im returning to the laptop world after upgrading my 5680 and needing something lighter.

That sager eventually kicked my ass lol!

I was going to tell u to do the typical ask the company u bought it from..but then again, you probably voided your warranty.

Good to see some of the oldies here tho!

I have 2 M90 systems that are used pretty much daily at this point and mine are holding together very well. This seems odd since the aluminum is actualy recessed to where it is flush with the magnesium alloy around it.

What? Me keeping a warrenty? I voided my 5680's within days; no reason i should threat my Dell any better.

And you know, with the 9300 only weighing in at 8 LB, it isnt nearly as much of a back breaker like the 5680 was; not to mention, the weight to performance level is just awsome.

well. im keeping my 5680, but building my desktop for gaming. i wanted something lightweight but powerful..prolly the dell or the asus (dell 12 in or asus 14), but i really want batterylife and a decent gpu..not really a god powerful gpu but dedicated.

What happened to your 5680?

Oh and be SURE to clean the CPU heatsink..i JUST did that but bent my pins so ill need a new cpu..which for those is really cheap now adays.

I had to sell the old girl a while ago unfortunatly. She was just too big and hot, and wasn't what i needed for school. Next came an HP zt3000; nice little laptop, but not powerful enough for me! I just can't win. So, i settled for the Dell 9300... the graphics rock, but i can still pull 3 hours of battery while in class. Win win for me.
