I have the full l2 cache 2 on the AO2

I was pretty sure most of the people that first dropped in Merom's had the same result as you as long as they used DDR2/667 RAM.

Dont get me wrong, my system still runs great but I did have to upgrade to the DDR2/667 ram to get it to run with the merom installed... and that IS a bios issue where the CPU:RAM DIVIDERS (not the Multipliers) are not working correctly with the slower ram.
Also, the A02 does not show voltages correctly as popping my ES into a newer E1705 with the A03 bios shows correct (lower) voltages than the system with the A02 bios and the A03 runs cooler than the A02.

Now, that being said... I am trying (once again) to get a copy of the A03 bios.
I almost had it once, but failed at the last minute (darn supervisors) so I thought I would give it 2 weeks and try again.

Chances are, by the time I get it, it will be released for download on dells site (lol)

Still not having any luck with dell support, they keep sending me links to 9100 a03 bios or the 9400 a02 etc...

I really just wish they would put it on the site for download as they have it available in house, just are being stingy with it.

Just click on this link once in a while. Dell seems pretty consistent in their file naming.. so whenever they post the
A03 bios on their site, it show up at this link. It doesn't work yet, but they should be posting it soon, as A03 has been shipping for 3 - 4 weeks now.

ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/MP061A03.EXE (no file here, see below instead)

edit - Dell seems to have bypassed an A03 release. A03 shipped in notebooks, but was not released on the support site. They have leapfrogged directly to the A04 release. So presumably there were bugs in the A03 release that shipped. This A04 release is identical that was here transiently. So if you already have it, there is no need to update either.

Yes, my system seems to be running correctly now.
The temps are lower overall (I already had the merom running at lower voltages via rightmark clock utility) and the bios is showing the processor correctly as well.
I was also getting random "hardware error" once a week or so but have not had one yet (will have to wait and see), but I think this bios fixed everything.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!

Ok, doing some more testing and this new bios rocks.
It now correctly shows my T7400 voltages.
Before teh bios update the lowest voltage I had available was 1.062v@6x multi, now it is at teh correct 0.950v@6x and the default highest voltage was 1.3v@13x (although I had it set to 1.225v) but is now defaulted to 1.112v@13x.
The system is stable so far and running much cooler.
I will try running 2x prime 95 and encode a divx again to make sure all is stable, but really happy right now.

how can i check if my t7400 is running at top speed now? I know that i8kfangui has a measure (4 actually), or rightmark (would I have to update that from when I was using it with A01?)

Dell Obviously reads these forums cause I got a email from my source saying global Engineering was shocked to see the bios here for download and strickly was not to be given out or shared and as a good will i removed any bios traces. You just have to wait for Dell to officially release it.

Oh well - at least I have a copy!!! and a flashed A04 Bios running well!!!

Have just upgraded my Nvidia 7800 = 7900 go (for free) brought a Lappie for a friend on the condition I could swap Video cards!!! The Bios run's fine with the new card Temps have not gone above 60 (yet) - So thanks for the Bios even if it was not supposed to be released as I want to update to a T7600 and can't do that on A02.
