There are multiple threads on this topic already...here is one of them.

If you want to do some light reading on the topic...here are a few articles...

http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTgz

http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q1...t/index.x?pg=1

http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1956

The one by anandtech is the best one, but it is also the most technical.

Enjoy ! !

Big differences are....

1. 9nm build instead of 13nm making the chip smaller, slightly cheaper to produce
2. I belive it has a bigger cache
3. can be clocked past 5 gigs
4. 31 point pipeline vs. 20 point (The longer pipe dosen't mean much now until programs start optimizing for it and will be able to operate much faster)

As of now the performance difference is nearly microscopic but when programs start optimzing for it will pull it way ahead of the northwood

CHeck out tomshardware too.
Prescott will perform better on the Alderwood chipset. It's actually a very good chip on alderwood, beats northwood even in the single chan 533 setting.
At least I believe it did if mem serves right.
It's just not made for a 478 chipset.

if u're going to go with EE - why not go with the 3.4 - i mean you're already going over the top already - why stop at 200mhz?
