The Video Toaster is nothing like Premiere Pro. At it's core, sure it edits video, but that's all. The VT is a full real time switch that has very specific hardware requried to run it. Premiere Pro is a Software Only editing solution.

To put it in Perspective, it'd be like saying a yugo is comprable to a BMW. They both drive and get you there, but there is quite a bit of difference.

Lightwave and 3D Studio Max are NOT plugins. The are both stand alone 3D Modeling programs, and are considered very high end. Lightwave was originally developed by Newtek, the company behind the Video Toaster, but that was YEARS ago and they are two seperate products.

Great. I was trying to find someone who have used VT. Perhaps you could answer some of my questions. First, the studio is trying to replace the old analog control board connected to the three studio cameras with the VT. Is that possible? Also what advanced functionality does the VT have that is beyound the capabilities of Premiere? Anything it can do that Avid can't do? How many layers can I render in real-time?
