MBR? Sorry but what is that? I'm a bit of an idiot when comes to the technical stuff.
Last night I managed to use the eRecovery for the snapshot images backup by burning it onto a DVD but still failed when I want to do it to the D partition. Any ideas why?
MBR Master Boot Record. Sits on first track of hard drive. The ACER MBR is essential for the PQSERVICE partition to work correctly (it is actualy a program which the machine runs to load every thing that follows). Running a program such as PQMAGIC and selecting 'restore MBR' will over write it and although your system may work, it will not work as ACER intended (and you want it to).
Also running FDISK /mbr will trash the ACER version of the MBR. There are several threads over on the peer - peer forum including tips on how you might recover the ACER version. HTH
