Hinges on Satellite A25

Thread Starter
I have a Toshiba Satellite A25-S207 and the hinges seem to be messed up. Basically, the screen won't stay up: it either flops down or falls back. I assume I need to replace the hinges; where do I get new ones? And is this something I can do on my own , or should I have it done professionally. I'm not a computer wiz by any means, but I have like replaced my hardrive and stuff like that, etc. Thanks for your help.

How do I go about doing that?

You'll need to replace the hinges. They can't be adjusted.

To do so you'll need to completely disassemble the top half of the laptop's case and remove the speakers to get to the hinge base supports as well as the LCD lid to detach the top half of the hinges from both the plastic LCD lid cover as well as the LCD itself.

I've done this four times now on my 5205 which has the same style hinges as the A25.
