Asus M6N & DVD Drive problem.. Detects... do not...

My Asus M6N 2.5 years old, sometimes detects de dvd drive and sometimes dont! Not even in the Bios.

The drive comes out just like the battery, no bolts.

Is it hardware conection problem? Just tried another drive from another laptop, and it was found, mounted mine, it was not. Mounted mine in the other laptop, it was found... ARGHHHHH!!!!

Did someone else found this problem? Don´t know if I have to buy an external USB drive or not...

i would definitively look into the "lock-in" area first. like i said, i do not know if this is normal, usually one cannot just slide the optical drive out that easily, unless this is a "extra bay"?

I know you probably already tried this but pull out the drive and then reinsert in, just incase it wasn't inserted completely.

Which drive do you have? The Toshiba?

Movable parts are the first to break. The best idea is still to use it on another equip. to rule out a problem on your notebook (connectors etc.).
