Need to replace my DVD drive

Hello,

I have an R50e I bought a little over a year ago. My CDRW/DVD drive has always felt a little off to me and recently the darn thing broke. The tray will no longer go back into the drive and stay there, it keeps springing back out.

So I went online to buy a replacement only to discover they run about $120. So I wanted to know if I need to buy the IBM dvd drive or are these drives standard and I can replace it with anyones laptop dvd drive?
