Amilo 3438G corrupt bios?

Hello,

My 8 month old Amilo 3438G keeps randomly turning off. Now, it mostly turns off a few minutes after switching it on. If I'm lucky, it says on for about 30 mins max. Also, a "CMOS Date not set" error keeps coming up several times when I start up/reboot the laptop. I've even replaced the CMOS battery but the problem is still there. I've even tried swapping the RAM and also removing the hard disk and booting Puppy Linux into memory from a bootable CD but it still turns off. My idea is that the BIOS somehow got corrupted. I don't want to flash it in case the laptop shuts down during the process. Any ideas/suggestions on what to do? And any idea on how much would Fujitsu Siemens take to replace the BIOS (I'm in the U.K) ?

Thanks,
Kevin

thanks,
I think it was bad RAM because I replaced my 1GB module with the orginal 256 MB ones and it hasn't turned off. I'll probably use it for a few days and see whether the problem reoccurs.
