Price Check on Current PC

How much do you think I could find someone to buy this for?

1.4 Athlon on a KT333 Dragon Lite mobo
256 DDR PC2700
30G 5400
Geforce 4 mx440
NIC - 56k modem - Generic Case

I'm 'attempting' to get as much as I can out of it; currently a friend's uncle is up for $600, and if he defaults my parents will give me a flat out $500.

[you can skip the next section if you want - just the story of how it got made; I'm bored so I'm writing it ]

Letssee...A long long time ago, in a galax-...just kidding. From the top:

My friend bought a HP CrapSys w/ a Celeron, 30 5400 HD, NIC, Modem, integrated Video.

We had a competition at ALP (Atomic Lan Party) for a Monster System (At the time the best. 1.2 Athlon, 1G DDR, 2 80G HD's [7200], Radeon 8500 [I think]). Anywho, the rules were that if you won it, you had to give away your current pc to someone who didn't have one of their own. Well, my friend, simply put, whooped ass, and I got his HP

Eventually, it got too slow to play decent games (Ok; it was never fast in the first place) and I wanted to upgrade. I bought a Geforce 2 mx since it had a pci slot, and I stuck 'er in. (This was when I had LIMITED tech knowledge). Well, it hanged getting into windows so someone I (unfortunately) trusted said to reformat, and of course that didn't change a damn thing. He said I would then need a new motherboard, and with that a new processor and case (Since it wouldn't fit the HP). Sooooooo, he went ahead and ordered, even though I didn't have the money!!!

Luckily, we had another competition. The price, a 100G HD (biggest at time). It was Unreal Tournament, and my l337 minigun skills pwned all But...I forked over the 100G HD to pay for the case, mobo, and proc.

Well, I ripped apart the HP, and stuck it's hard drive, modem, and Nic into the case. So it's current specs are a:
1 ghz Athlon, 512 norm ram, 30G 5400, Geforce 2 mx.

Next was our trip to the CPL in Dallas Awsome times...Anywho, I went and bought a KT333 Dragon Lite mobo and 256 DDR pc2700, and it helped my rig - a little. Stuck that in, and headed home to MN.

When we got back, I found that SOMEHOW my Geforce 2 mx had gone bad on the ride back. (Dunno how; still a mystery. Heat wasn't an issue, neither was movement...) So I had to go grab a Geforce 4 mx 440. Stuck that in, and while I was doing that my friend traded me his 1.4 for my 1. (He just stuck it in one of the ALP machines - free upgrade for me )

The End. Hopefully my next saga will begin with a new 5660

Wow. Can't believe I just typed that. Anyways, I'll shut up now.

Boredom is a powerful weapon. Hehehe. Why don't you do a check on pricescan.com or pricewatch.com for the components and add it all up?

Cheers.

thats a pretty low end system, if you can get 600 for it i'd take it, i think 500 for it is even a good deal, i mean a brand new system with like a 200 gig hard drive and g4 4600 is only 1600 ish so i mean for a used comp with small HD and what not, good deal i'd take the deal for 600

yeah and no mention of cd or dvd drive of any type.. although im assuming you just neglected to mention such since floppy isnt mentioned either and most computers till recently at least had floppy drive included..

Hehe. My friend's going to rip off his sister's boyfriend for me

We're going to offer it for $700 but 'lower' the price to $600. I'll let you guys know how this works out.
(If it does, it'll soon be followed by a post "OMGOMGOMG SKYE FINALLY GETS A 5660!!!1" )

[wood] <--get it?

Those are pretty heavy competitions you guys hold. I wouldn't give up my 500 mhz even though it sucks. =P I've had it for 3 years and it's like family that i'm soon going to replace

I'd say...600 is quite a bit. It's not a GREAT pc, and if I were going to buy it, it wouldn't be for more than 450 because of the GHz status. If I'm going to get a new computer, it had better be at least 2.4 GHz.

But that's me.
