HP Pavillion ZD 7000

Thoughts on this machine?

Not that CNET is the final word on anything, far from it, but good info at:

Available now with the P4 EE and WXGA screen found in the comparable Sagers, its an interesting box.

Just wondered if anybody was thinking about this machine, or even had on - have tried one etc.

Thanks!

I itried it actually owned it for a week. Its a reall good solid machine, Im not one for HP but this was definitley a good pc - I returned becasue I could get a kick ass sager for the same price. The screen is very nice and this computer could definitlry take a beating uin my opinion.

If I were you, I'd just get a Sager 8790. Its cooler, lighter, and faster (more expenisve too, but lets ignore the bad )!

The HP ZD7000 is huge, heavy and comes with a video card not so good for gameplay.
Doesn't last long on batteries. My sister has one (mostly all the options). It was a nice price but I am not impressed with performance, portability (mobility) or really any other aspect of it as a laptop. As a desktop it is a decent unit, but not well suited for game play. My sister paid nearly twice what I did for mine (M6805) her machine is heavier and slower and lasts 1/2 as long on batteries.
