Upgrade the video card or don't even think you'll be able to run those games at high settings - maybe not even medium settings.

Yea thats what id eventually do but, what card should i get? How is the 7900GT OC ?

Well, honestly, you might want to wait. With everything going on right now with Vista, DirectX10, and the geforce 8800 coming out in the near-future.. You should really just wait and either spend your money on the brand new stuff, or save a ton of money when the prices of everything else drop.

Probably around $600 for the top version. I'm guessing this because when the 6800 Ultra came out it was $600 then when the 7800GTX came out it too was $600, and etc. for the 7900GTX.

Thats quite a bit, so i might just get like a 7900GTX if the price drops. Or an X1900XTX

I think that would be a good PC to start with for the money. I just recently purchased an EVGA 7950 GT 512MB card. I'm really happy with it. It's true about Vista and DX 10 coming early 2007. With that said, I'd don't know how soon it'll be until games start using DX 10. It could be a year. First releases tend to have bugs and need time to work out.

My recommendation....
If you want to save a little money. Buy the 9200 with bare bones video. Purchase an EVGA 7600 GT. You can register the card and use the Step Up program within 90 days of purchase if a new DX10 capable card comes out.

The 7600 GT will give you some good performance and not break the bank. If you want better performance and are willing to spend a little more, buy the 7950 GT. I spent $340.00 on mine in town. You can probably get one cheaper online. I am very happy with the 7950 GT so far.

Yea i will probably get a 7950GT OC in like 2 months or so

The vid card wont cut it, so figure on a nice vid card upgrade to handle those games on high settings. Your better off building your own system the way you want it, and dont drop alot of money on a video card right now, wait for DX10. Im looking to build a desktop and im basically going for a Core 2 Duo SLI setup, and a cheap vid card for now.

I've got an "outdated system" and it still flies...I'd say upgrade that video card a little bit..and it will be fine.

I doubt very much its flying through DirectX 9 games at high settings.

Yea but i dont want to spend like $600+ on the 8800. And would the 7950GT PC be good?
7950 GT 512mb would my my first choice with an SLI motherboard. Then as i needed the power, slap another one in.

Would'nt 1 card be good enough? Or would an X1900XTX be better?

Ive fallen out of the Radeon loop. I dont know much about them at all since they fell behind Nvidia. I would say one 7950 GT 512 would suit you fine, maybe toss a better fan on and OC it a little, but that should do fine until DX10 cards start coming out. I personally wouldnt drop alot of cash into the cards available now, id wait for DX10 to drop a good chunk of money. Im figuring ill wait until DX10 is almost in full swing, build a nice Core 2 Duo system with SLI and put the best vid card available in, and when i need to, go SLI with the same card or better one. Key thing would be to wait for DX10 if your gonna spend alot of money. Games are gonna be insanely nice looking. Look at Cryteks new game Crysis and what they are doing with DX9, its simply stunning.

Yea i wish i had $600+ to spend on a card. If the DX10 cards are $400 i would take it.
You are in luck i read that the 8800 GT will be like $440 but if i were you i would also invest in either a seperate PSU for it or a bigger power suply for your PC. It is going to be VERY power demanding.

I'm very happy with my 7950GT right now. Hopefully the new DX10 cards come out within 90 days. I can still use my EVGA stepup to get one. I'd probably just stick it out with the 1300 radeon card for a short period of time to see when the new DX10 cards are due out. It should be in time for the Vista release.

If you need something reasonable to get good performance, buy a 7600 GT. I was pretty happy with it. You may not be able to max out the settings on BF2, but it still worked great. That's what I used before I got my 7950 GT.
