M1210 Screen Question!!

Hey, I am going to be buying a new notebook really soon, and im really considering the M1210, but I some questions about the screen size.

With the small screen size do you have to strain your eyes to read text?

Since you have to have the resolution so high do you find that your eyes hurt after using the computer for hours at a time.

I also have a gaming question.

Has anyone played Guild Wars on the M1210? I know its not THAT demanding, but when i play it on my current computer its very laggy and annoying, i just wanna know if it can play on max setting without lag?

Thanks

screen rocks, text is rendered just like the size of a 17" 1280x1024 lcd but a smaller and sleeker form factor. the smaller screen but huge resolution makes the aliasing of the letters less noticable. and guild wars? heck, i've been playing HL2 on high along with the dark messiah demo on high with at least 30-40 fps and at times 100+!
hope this helps

I have the Samsung screen and I'm happy with it. I've come across a couple of websites that were difficult to read, but you can adjust the font size in IE when that happens. My only complaint about the display is the viewing angles....looks really good straight on, but fades quickly when you are to either side of it. Of course it's a small notebook not a home theater and you otherwise get a lot for your money.

m1210 is a great machine for what it is designed for. I have no major issues with it and am very happy with it. It does everything I need and is easily transported around.

A bit of gaming before/after work in the coffee shop is all good in my book.

Thanks for all your replies guys, this was the only thing that i was worried about, i cant wait to get mine.

Also, no one can tell me about Guild Wars? I dont play many games, this is basically the only game that i play now, but i plan on playing some ore when i get the computer. If anyone has played Guild Wars could you tell me how it was? Like did the frame rate slow down at all when you where in big towns with lots of people, did it lag at all on max settings? And if you wanna do me a HUGE favour could you check the frame rate? I know its asking alot but i would really like to know

THANKS!!

I didn't do a whole lot of testing but Guild Wars ran fine on my M1210 in 1280x800.

Can you explain more about "fine" Amartin56? Like, where all the settings max, was Anti Aliasing on, what did you have the sound quality on, terrain quality, etc etc... did it play with some lag? No Lag? Lots of lag? TY!!!!!

I can play CS Source and Battlefield 2142 demo (with sound stuttering) perfectly fine at high and medium quality respectively. It's a great little machine that has a long battery life (if you go for 9-cell) and has everything you can possibly ask for in a 12.1" portable laptop.

The screen is perfectly fine. I love the portability when I bring it to university for taking notes, doing homework etc. No eyes strains or anything.

What are you waiting for? Buy one now! Well maybe you should wait for the free 2GB upgrade. It's worth it!
