i have the sentia m3200 lappy and my cd-rom hasnt been working lately. I looked for drivers and everything. Its not just the cd's either becasue i tried them out in other pc's and it worked fine. Also sometimes my laptop wont recogenize that i have a cd drive. So im not sure if its loose or something. I havent treated it to rough though. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Try reseating the the drive, follow these instructions http://4help.alienware.com/cgi-bin/a...i=&p_topview=1

It says it's for the m3450, but it applies to all Sentia systems.

No problem, glad it helped

Sounds like it was just a case of "chip creep". Components in your laptop expand with heat when it's on and then contract when you turn it off. Over time connections become loose on there own. Reseating components once in a while really helps.
