? is does this notebook share the same MB as the NX860? if it does in theory you can install a dedicated nvidia 7600 card on this notebook.

It appears that the BB model will not support this card as it has intergrated (Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
Up to 128 MB Shared Video memory) and no available MXM III slot.

If you guys are intersted in this 17 model and plan on gaming, I would advise you to purchase the NX860 directly from Gateway. This way you can upgrade your video card with any available mxm III video card. Besides the starting price for this model is 1299 which is comparable to BB's retail version minus the dedicated video card.

Just remember to call in and talk to a Sales rep when you order from Gateway since they are usually willing to give reasonable discounts.

I am having no problems with my MP8708. Is anyone having trouble with theirs?

Glad to hear your laptop is healthy

My MP8708 died the other day...was working fine, not too hot, then a little pop and now it won't power on. My computer genius friend looked at it, then took it to his work where it was disassembled and examined by more computer geniuses, but they couldn't tell what the problem was. Do I need a new motherboard? And if so, can I get one that works without having to go through Gateway?
