While waiting for this lappy to arrive (i'm soooo stoked!) , i have a question for anyone using Ghost 2003 on the m5550.

Do the Ghost USB drivers work for external USB HDD's? I want to Ghost off my backups to an external USB Seagate 120GB drive.

Yes? No? Maybe so?

Thanks guys. This forum rocks!

Tried using Ghost from the CD but it wouldn't boot to the Ghost menu ... kept hanging. Bought Acronis True Image 9.0 and built my bootable CD and now everything works. Can backup and restore to/from USB hard drives. So long, Norton!

I've heard about issues with versions of Ghost and the core duo/core 2 duo line, and also conflicts with XP MCE. I'm not much of a Norton fan, but I went ahead and bought Norton internet security for my m9700, and it wouldn't load with Daemon Tools on my machine. Took that off and it loaded, but it's a bloated pig that slows my internet speeds and boot time dramatically...

Agree 100% to that. Ghost was my final Norton/Symantec program that i had.

True Image 9.0 is the bomb!
