is hypersonic's 14 day estimate accurate?

Has anyone recently ordered a laptop from hypersonic? Did they really hold to te 14 estimate I see on their page? I'm asking because Voodoo has a 30 to 45 day wait, but HS is only 14 days.

The shorter time to build and the fact I can get a computer unpainted (500 bucks cheaper) is making them look appealing. (I can't go sager...I want the amd64 model)

Thanks

When I ordered my Clevo/Sager from HyperSonic, they even rushed the order for me for free. I just gave them a call and they let rushed it out by a couple of days. Just my personal experience... maybe you should check out resellerratings.com to see if other people have had the same look as me.

Ooo, sounds like a plan. Thanks!

Ok..the reseller ratings look quite good for hypersonic. I wish people could post written responses instead of just numeric data points. But you can't have everything.

What laptop did you get? How are you liking it? So...for you, the 14 day turn around time was accurate? Did you get a painted laptop? Hmmmm, I like what I'm hearing so far and their price is much better than Voodoo. If you get a chance, could you write up a review for the forum here? It'd be very helpful. I'd definately read it very carefully.

It wasn't accurate for me...

Here is my experience with Hypersonic so far. I ordered the AX6 on 2/17 and initially the estimated ship date was set at 3/6. However, about a day after the order the estimate changed to 3/17. I did not get the custom paint job either, which I was hoping would speed up the order (not to mention I didn't want it). So, ship times may vary depending on the model I guess.

Also, I am not real happy with the information they provide on the status of my order. Their web page has listed the status as "Accpeted" and "Built/Tested" since about a day after the order (when the date changed to 3/17).

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that I wouldn't order anything from them again. But, some orders obvisouly do take longer than the estimated date...

Much appreciated. Thank you. It looks like I'm going to have to learn patience. Something I've never excelled at. It seems that all the laptop resellers mentioned here are probably running 30-45 days...whether they'll admit it or not.

Ordered Jan 16, shipped on Feb 5 and they upgraded my shipping to overnight because of 3 day delay.

Ahhh, I think I've figured something out. It depends on their reciept of chassis most likely. If you're fortunate, they have them in stock and and start your build right away. If they're out of stock, you have to wait until they get their next shipment.

You sound like you're very happy with your purchase. Have you posted a review or pictures? I'd love to see your laptop. How do you like the screen?

I would love to hear more about your experience as well spygirl. What do you think of the laptop now that you have had it for a month or so? Also, what kind of feedback did you get from Hypersonic once you placed the order?

I received a courtesy call from them the day after I placed the order. But, I have not heard anything since and the web site still displays the same status from back on 2/18.

i've promised everyone a review... i'm going to do it one of these days - i promise! the machine is gorgeous (i'm finding that the paint is very durable) and runs really smooth. I don't know if its the 64bit or just well-tuned, but it "feels" faster than even comprable intel machines. The screen has a contrast ratio of either 300 or 400:1 (i think former) but the response time is only 25ms so virtually no ghosting in games, etc.

I ordered a NX6 (no paint) on 2/16. Originally was to receive it 3/6. Shipment date was changed to 3/16. I cancelled my order on 3/6 because it hadn't shipped yet and the GX7 (8790) was available...which I ordered . They cancelled my order and promptly refunded my credit card. Their estimated ship dates seem to vary but are updated on the order status page correctly. So far, my experience with Hypersonic has been very good. My GX7 is due to ship on 3/23 (originally 3/21). Hopefully, I'll receive it on time. Review to follow.....

Oh yeah...nanas for the pixel gods....

--- So that the gods will be merciful on your screen.

And just a small comment... at least you dont have to go through 14 phases
