Sound Problem

I have the asus s9 and when I plug in my headset, sound still comes out of my laptop speakers.

Anyone help? Thanks.

Are you plugging it on the right port? Can you hear the sound also on the headset? What is the symbol/name on the port you're plugging the headset?

I hear the sound in my headset/headphones aswell as the sound coming out from my speakers.

I reinstalled my ati drivers and checked all my settings.

could be the headphone jack has cold solder but without actually seeing it, its only a guess. the jack itself could be physically damaged and need replacing
